Senior Associate Scientist
We are seeking a creative, passionate, and motivated individual to join us in our quest to develop the next generation of disease modifying therapies for devastating neurodegenerative diseases. This position is part of the cell & molecular biology team, which is focused on developing the novel human iPSC-derived models of Parkinson’s disease.

Key Responsibilities
- With appropriate supervision perform complex cell culture techniques, including iPSC differentiations towards neurons, astrocytes and microglia and both mono- and tri-cultures of these.
- Perform quality control measures for stem cells and differentiated cells.
- With some supervision and guidance, perform cell-based assays and experiments with a wide range of endpoints including biochemical, cell viability, high-content & confocal imaging.
- Assist in performing genetic modifications using CRIPSR-Cas9 system and select the desired iPSC clones using phenotypic markers and genotyping.
- Contribute to determining the mechanism of action of novel genes on Parkinson’s disease relevant endpoints in the iPSC models.
- Together with their manager, analyze and interpret the data and be responsible for timely and effective communication of data and results to the project teams & scientific leadership.
Required experience and skills:
- MSc in neuroscience, molecular / cell biology, or related field with 3+ years of academic or industrial experience.
- Expertise in iPSC or stem cell differentiation, culture, banking and characterization.
- Experience in cellular and gene engineering using CRISPR & lentivirus (including cloning and lentivirus production techniques).
- Expertise in molecular biology, RNA and protein analysis (e.g. qPCR, RT-qPCR, Western, flow cytometry etc.).
- Experience in developing and validating assays for screening / SAR (Structural Activity Relationship) is preferred.
- Experience with RNAseq, single cell genomics and gene/protein screening. technologies (Perturb-seq, STARR-seq, protein microarrays) is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and must be a self-starter with the ability to thrive in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment.
- Legally authorized to work in the US and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (ex. H1-B, F-1).
